Instructions:
1. Go to our database (will send link when job is accepted) .
2. Click on a VC firm to open the portfolio page. (example BoxGroup)
3. Click "Edit Portfolio Companies"
4. Go to crunchbase.com and search for the selected VC. Scroll down to get a list of all investments the selected VC has made.
5. Input these investments as Portfolio Companies into our database in one of two ways:
a) Add By API Search (Recommended and ALWAYS try first). Just type in the company exactly how it appears on Crunchbase. If the company appears in the table below the searchbar, just click it to add to the database. It takes about 2-3 seconds to return search results. You can now add the next portfolio company.
b) Add Manually: If the company does not show up after a couple seconds with the API search method, click the add manually tab. Enter all the information requested except the Profile Image Url.
6. Repeat for each VC in our database.
Note: Some VCS have 100+ portfolio companies, and some only have 5.
